A: I recommend Jobe's and Espoma varieties of Tomato fertilizer, follow package instructions.
Q: What are some of the heirloom tomato plants you offer?
A: Brandywines orange, yellow pink black and red. Audrey's Special Pink. Big Cheef, Big Beef. Crnkovic, Basinga, to name a few with some changes each year.
Q: I got some forsythia bushes from an old home site, should I prune them back to improve growth?
A: After they finish blooming, take off 12" to thicken them up. You can also take those cuttings and stick in a wet sandy mix soil until rooted and create new plants.
Q: I got some hibiscus plants from a yard. What's the best way to keep them alive through the winter?
A: Keep them indoors in buckets, water from the bottom lightly once a week. They need 70+ F' temps and bright lights, LED if possible. Put outside after all chance of frost is passed.
Q: Can I grow corn in a container?
A: Yes, just needs to be deep enough for roots at least 12 inches deep. Will need extra feeding and watering to keep plants healthy through production.
